Nick that is so cool! It does not surprise me in the least that you have this powerful yet lighthearted saint as your specially chosen patron. Your work searches, witnesses and smiles the way his does.

Kristin thanks for sharing this story and wonderful picture. How great that you were at the center of forming that play as it was being created. Erik's work has such a strong presence. I'm working with my students on "Heavenly Shades of Night are Falling." In getting to know the complexities of his play the students embody the long lasting effects of inherited trauma and racism and begin to understand it rather than just talk about it. I will always remember the moving memorial to those who died in the Virginia Tech shooting with the installation performance of "What a Stranger May Know." And how the play, the way that you and Michael Zampelli cast it and organized it gave us a sense of the souls of these people reaching out to each other and to us. It sounds like this St. Genesius was a similar experience of embodiment of witness. I'm so glad you were able to give that experience to your students and your audiences.
